🌟 NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS (NHN) 2025 🌟

*NHN is a holiday initiative that provides gifts and clothing to local families experiencing hardship. It is supported by the Zimmerman Livonia Fire Department, Zimmerman Schools, local businesses and churches.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON:

🎁 Sponsor a Child or Family
Look for a child’s “angel” at one of these locations starting November 17th: 

  • Hudson’s Hardware
  • Z Market
  • The Refuge Church
  • *New this year*- Online angels available.  Use this link:  NHN Angel Link - or check out the Zimmerman schools website under the families tab

You can choose the age and gender of the child/children you would like to sponsor.
Gifts must be purchased and dropped off (unwrapped) at the Zimmerman Fire Station across from Westwood Elementary.
Drop-off schedules will be included with the angel information.

💵 Monetary Donations
You can make a monetary donation to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors account at Woodlands National Bank in Zimmerman. All funds go directly to helping local families in need - this covers grocery/gas gift cards, hygiene products for children, shopping for unclaimed angels and unexpected needs throughout the year.  

🧸 Toy Drive
The American Legion and Zimmerman Livonia Fire Station host a toy drive the first Saturday in December at the American Legion. You can drop off gifts or monetary donations at that time. Look for signs in the community.
👉 Our biggest need is always gifts for ages 12 and up! 

🎀 Wrapping Supplies
Donate new wrapping paper and tape, which will be distributed to each family. Can be dropped off at the toy drive, the fire station or any of the Zimmerman Schools.

  🎄    DO YOU NEED HELP THIS HOLIDAY SEASON?    🎄

If you live in the 55398 (Zimmerman) area or have children attending Zimmerman Schools, you may qualify for assistance. The program serves children under 18 or still in high school.

📄 How to Apply:

  • Applications available starting November 1st
  • Found online at any of the Zimmerman Schools websites under the Families tab (NHN Application Form)  or through the QR code below.
  • Only one application per family
  • Applications must be submitted online by Friday, November 21st to be guaranteed sponsorship
  • Applications after November 21 may still be accepted but aren’t guaranteed requested items
  • Information about gift pick-up dates and times is included in the application 
  • You will receive a confirmation letter in the mail within a couple weeks of your application.
